SSI evaluates each case separately. You have to apply with statements from your doctor.
It can take several years to get a final decision as most applications for everything are rejected and have to be appealed.
Also the SSI will be based on your SS earnings. Check your statement from last spring to determine what the award would be if approved.

If you are unable to work at anything, you should be able to receive ssi; however, you will probably need to go to a lawyer who specializes in those cases to get what's coming to you--Try Bender and Bender.
