haha i love jets answer. Its because in the process of making more affordable vehicles, they also crap out on quality. Makes you buy a new one sooner so in the end they make even more money. I would rather pay a bit more for a better quality car. I have a friend in Ireland who drives a Ford Focus. He said that the cars ford makes for europeans are better quality. I have no idea if thats true, or if it is why...maybe europeans in general will spend more...no idea...they suck though i would never buy a ford again. i had a mustang that was complete peice.

Because there junk.I bought a new mustang and it quit running after 2 1/2 months. So I gave it back to the dealer, and got a new truck, after 12,000 miles.I started having problems with the front end.I took it to ford to check it out. They told me that there was nothing wrong. I then took it to an auto shop that does front end work. I found out what the problem was.At the ford factory they didn't tighten down the ajustmate nut that keeps the front end in alinement. So I took it back to ford, and had them put it on there lift, and I showed that big nut to them that was never tighten at the factory. That was 7 months ago. They havn't notified me are anything, and I called ford motor credit and told them where to stick there piece of junk. I haven't heard a dam thing from them.So I think they know there fords are nothing but junks, and really doesn't care.

I have only owned Fords for the past 25 years. Never had one fall apart on me yet, and I tend to keep my cars for many years. Matter of fact, my two sons have been driving our '89 Ford (Bought new by us) for a few years with no worries. Our 67 Ford was a gem and if we hadn't moved overseas we'd still have it today. We currently have a 98 and 2004 Fords.

At Ford, quality is job #1....working at Wal - Mart is job #2.
If they built their cars they way they built their trucks, they'd be just fine.
They abandonded the car market in favor of selling the high profit trucks. They simply didn't care to design and build a car that was safe, economical, reliable, solid, affordable, and that allowed them to make a return on their investment.
I will say this tho, if ANYbody at Ford had just HALF a brain, they'd bring over the execs from Ford Europe to run the company, and begin selling their European cars in the US. They are a completely different car than what they sell to us in the State.

I would never buy one, but I hear from many people that they are the worst cars. But some also say theirs have never given them a problem. I guess it is a matter of proper care. But then again, I have a Honda that I take care of, but things are falling apart monthly. So beats me...

Look at the pool of which to pull qualified employees from in America. Most of them could care less about the attention to detail and quality. They are willing to cut corners, and it is showing in American made vehicles.
