Something simple. Nothing too over-the-top. He won't remember it so there's no need to go all out. Does he like Sesame Street or something like that? That would be a good party for his age and it would be nice and simple.

Be simple. At this age, the party is really more for the grown ups than the child. If you overdo it, the child may become overwhelmed and not enjoy it. Get a cake. Get some plates and napkins with a character the child likes on them, like Pooh or Elmo or something. Simple. Take lots of pix of baby covered in cake. Let him/her play with the boxes and wrapping paper.

I say to just do a simple get together with family and good friends. Don't spend alot of cash as the baby won't remember the party anyway.

Make sure you don't do it around nape time! The child is likely to be over stimulated with all the people and fuss that will be made over him or her so try to have calming soothing things around and keep it simple. I got my daughters fist b-day cake made at Walmart I had them put a really cute baby picture of her on the front of it and since it was her 1st b-day she got her own smaller cake to have for herself for free all walmarts do this for babys 1st b-day just tell them its thier first and they will give you an extra cake free. GOOD LUCK

A home party with family and a few friends. Make him his own little cake and take lots of pictures. It isn't that big a deal to them at this age. Just have fun celebrating this special day with people who are special to you and your son. Good luck!!

y little one is almost 9 months old and we will have a party for family and friends...his b-day is in Feb, which in Louisiana may or may not be cold, but I wont take any chances, I wil have it at one of the McDonald's with an indoor play-yard, so the little ones will have something to do and the adults have plenty of room.
As for clowns, Elmo's, etc....the type you hire....don't waste your money, kids under three are usually terrified of theses furry friends, even if they love them on TV.
