What is a good Judo throw to counter someone who is tall and locking out their arms. I'm short, stocky and strong. I often have problems getting throws on tall guys who lock arms or stiffen arms out. I try to break the arms and close the distance but sometimes when I do this they attempt to throw and I lose the distance. What type of throws would you all use?

Typically if they are straigh arming you it's because they are using it as their defence. If they are straight arming you they can't throw you either. When he goes to turn in for a throw you can take him down as a counter or go for a leg and sweep the opther one. Just remember someone who does that is probably inexpeienced and doesn't like to be thrown. If you are just working out with them tell them to stop and your sensei should be aware of it and remind them it's training. If it's competition you shouldn't be with someone too much taller than you anyways unless they are really skinny and you happen to weigh the same.
Talk to your sensei and ask them to show you some good ways around an opponent that does that but for now go to the link for a list of techniques to work on.
over 12 years of training in Judo.
Also try to get in on him fast once you get your grip keep him pulled into you it will be hard for him to straigten his arms out. Trust me it's an amateur way of stoping from getting thrown.

Easy.
Like others have said, your opponent is inexperienced and doesn't want to make a mistake, or let you in.
First, this is negative Judo, and can result in a warning. The sensei should be stopping the fight and reprimanding your opponent for blocking.
A short drag on the right arm will bring your opponont down. Left hand on his right wrist, spin backward into him, and clamp down over his right elbow, while continuing in your spirial..drive him down. Hang on all the way to the bottom.

This is what I do. Ex. If they straighten out there right hand to grab your gi or what not. As soon as you see that hand come reaching in. Using your left arm, do this motion. (think of it like you are combing your hair) and take his incomming arm up and then at the same time you will duck down and go for the single leg. Take your right arm out of his leg and switch it to a double. Tilt your body into him and lift at the same time.

Lock one of his hand that he is straight arming you with and do a kan otoshi. Lock the hand and drop down behind his leg and drop him.

I always strike first before I go to throw... I never throw somone as a first move, because if they grab on you are screwed! Can you guys strike first?
