most people will swallow two to three times when drinking thru a straw before they are done with that nip....mostly because the straw is in your mouth and you dont immediately taste what you are drinking until you swallow and breathe.....but when you are drinking directly from a glass the first thing your drink hits is your tongue so you actually pull away from that particular nip....i cant stand the taste of a strong drink....my opinion only though....and i dont know why someone would want to drink beer thru a straw

There is no difference. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a moron. Yes the alcohol sits at the botton of the drink when the bartenders makes your drink but those tiny straws that come in your drink are for mixing, not drinking, hence it's called a mixed drink. People who drink through those straws are idiots. And if they are so concerned about getting drunk faster, why not just down a bunch of shots or start chugging from the bottle.

When you drink through the liquid bypasses the taste-buds on the tip of the tongue and goes down smoother. So you drink more quickly getting drunk faster. The only time I recommend drinking through a straw in when you are at a sporting event or concert and have to worry about spillage. Otherwise sipping makes the evening last longer and the morning more tolerable.

Because the alcohol settles in the bottom and when you drink it through a straw it's like doing a quick shot.

Besides the theory that you tent to drink faster with a straw and the one that says alcohol settles at the bottom... Yeah, those. =)

because when you make a drink the liquor goes to the bottom, when you drink from a straw you drink from the bottom, make yourself a drink at home and find out

It's a myth, it is suppose to make the carbonation in the beer "foam" or activate which pushes the alcohol into your bloodstream faster but it's not true.

I think because you drink faster thus drinking more drinks in the time you would drink sips from a glass.. don't think it matters though.
