I am not sure, but I know you can breath in thru your nose and out thru your mouth at the same time. Its called circular breathing. I learned it in band class. Its easier for brass players than woodwinds. One of our trombone players always did it during his solos. He played so pretty.

You probably already do and you don't realize it. If you casually have your mouth partially open and are relaxed, you will notice that breath escapes from the nostrils as well as the mouth.

ye try it, if you think you're doing it, block either ur nose or mouth and see if theres still breathing, but to save you time, u can lol
