I think sometimes we who are citizens of nations based upon democracy have a hard time understanding the concept of rule by a king. Because we are so accustomed to basically being able to call all the shots by the majority rule we have a hard time understanding how a king can be soverign over his kingdom and at the same time always make decisions that are in the best interest of his servants. We want to be the ones who make the decisions about what is right and wrong. We want to call all the shots rather than bow in submission to the will of our God.
We have developed a culture in the United States, for instance, where people just don't like to be told what to do. Even when our actions can lead to great hurt and damage to ourselves and our countrymen, we believe that we should have the right to act in any way we choose as long as it doesn't infringe upon the rights of others or directly cause them damage. We have come to believe that the individual can so isolate himself from society that it is really possible to do things "in the privacy of my home" that won't eventually affect society. That just isn't possible.
So if we truly understand the nature of God (that He is soverign over all things but because of His love He will always do what is in our best interest and will only restrict us from doing things that will harm us) we can better accept our role in His kingdom as being good servants to an awesome loving King.
Don't get me wrong. I really feel blessed to live in a nation based upon democratic rule, but I think we Christians must be careful to understand that the kingdom of God is not a democracy. We are called to be servants of Him and submit to His will in all things.

BRAVO!
You are right on in my opinion. As Americans with All the freedoms we enjoy and tend to take for granted, we tend to miss the true meaning of Lordship and surrender. In countries, other than U.S. of A., the Spirit of God is moving dramatically with the manifestation of God's power being revealed in real and timely ways.
When choosing God over mans rule and authority with the consequence of death or being disowned and disinherited, the strength of your conviction is alot more solid. The meaning of "I surrender all that I am and all that I have and all I will ever be to the Lordship of Jesus", asking "Jesus to move into your heart and become the Lord of your life" are more than just words and actually mean something because of the immediate and not some future consequences. As a result your commitment is complete, your courage to stand on what you beleive is steadfast and the compassion you have for others is true and a real reflection of the compassion and perfect love that God has for you.
Sadly most American Christians today are serving the god of self or the god of money not El Shaddai, God Almighty, the Creator of the Universe. Satan is doing a great job of stealing, killing and destroying the lives of Christians in America. He is doing everything possible to keep us week and ineffective at living a life that reflects our being children of a living God. He has deluded and deceived us to stop reading the bible so that we no longer have knowledge with understanding about who God is, who we are and have a standard for truth that is as flexible as a flag flying in the breeze. We are no longer a nation that prays and seeks the will of our Father. Instead of communing with God we have been deceived into beleiving that self pride is acceptable and necessary to succeed in life. We have forgotten that the truth about pride is that it is mans attempt to justify himself without God.

It may seem to make it more difficult, but NO. As a full gospel Christian answering you on a Christian site, I can honestly say, if we are following God, obeying God, knowing His word, nothing can keep us from submitting ourselves fully to God. That is one hundred per cent choice. amen. But, make it a little more difficult. maybe. If you arent fully on with God. Many today are so selfish, self centered, and so afraid someone will tell them what to do, and they arent about to let God tell them a thing. In every country , you have rebellion.. against God, government, no matter where you are. But, we arent to look at the world for answers and belief systems. God is our only source, and He tells us to die daily to self and submit our will to His, and then He will guide the way. When we do, lights turn on for us, door open wide, and for ever door the devil shuts, God opens two more. There is blessing in obedience and curse in disobedience. But God doesnt curse anyone. When people reject God, they deceide they are going to Hell. Not God. and each person on this earth has had equal opportunity to check this God thing out and learn for themselves. But few want to give up their so called rights, and selfish desire and pleasrues to serve a pure and Holy God, God wants us to lead HOly Pure Lives, and it is to our benefit. sure saves a lot of heartache, and gets us into Heaven whre we spend eternity with God just loving Him back like He loves us now. No matter how tough the decision, we each have that decision to make, and noone will answer for it but we who make it. We must get the word out, this is how itis. because I said so. No, but God did. God bless all ofyou who are still searching. Seek and ye shall find..

Friend I agree that the Kingdom of God is not in democracy, The Kingdom of GOD is WITHIN US AS A TRUE CHRISTIAN. I am also a proud USA citizen, From Indiana, The Bible does say we are to Obey the laws of the land, But if that law over-rules God's law, Then we are not obligated to obey mans law.

This is in which checking an extra interpretation is available in helpful. I feel the NKJV makes it less complicated to appreciate. Titus one million:sixteen They profess to understand God, however in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for each and every well paintings. Rom 12:one million I beseech you consequently brethren by means of the mercies of God, that you simply gift your our bodies a residing sacrifice, holy applicable to God, that's you fair provider. If figuring out the reality of God, and Scriptures you name your self a Christian. Then it must be obvious in the best way you reside your existence. A well tree bears well fruit. If after figuring out the reality, claiming to be Christian, however your existence and your stroll suggests the arena round you it's not actual, then you've got denied God, and selected your self above Him.

Anytime we become more attached to the systems of the world (politics, governments, countries) we are giving undo respect to things that are clearly not God or Godly.

No living in this world makes it hard to submit to the will of God.
Government does not.
Democratic, Dictatorship, Feudalist.
We are called to be in the world, not of it. We are also told to give to Ceasar what is Ceasars.

My life belongs to me. I DO have a right to live however I choose, so long as I am not infringing upon your right to do the same. Your religious inclinations have no bearing on my rights as a sovereign individual, and I pity anyone who claims the right to rule over another.
