The easiest way is to contact one of these AuPair/Nanny companies. They will arrange everything for you and it will be someone trained. If you know someone specific that you want to bring, and you are a US citizen, it is EXTREMELY HARD TO DO SO LEGALLY. That is why most people do not do it. Diplomats or employees or NGOS can do so quite easily with a B1 visa and later a work permit. Ironically, US citizens have less rights than foreign citizens living here. For example, a foreigner on an H-1B visa is allowed to bring a nanny to work for them in the US, and can do so in a matter of 2 or 3 months, but a green card holder or US citizen must go through a very difficult process to do so.
If you will need the nanny for a short period of time and you can prove that the need is temporary (for example your spouse is on bed rest during a high risk pregnancy), then you have a shot at it but first you have to prove to the Department of Labor that you tried finding a US worker to do the job and could not do so. And believe me that is not easy! You have to place ads in the newspaper and the recruiting is controlled by the USDOL. Once you get the approval from the DOL, you can file the visa application with the USCIS and if also approved, then she willget an interview at the consulate. It is a total pain in the you know what. The visa is under the "H" category but can not remember the exact name. Call USCIS and ask for the name of the visa for a "non-immigrant domestic temporary worker". They should be able to direct you in the maze that you are getting yourself in to. Good luck!!

Your premise is incorrect. Our Founders specifically created a three branch, co-equal government for the expressed purpose of seeing to it, that: A) A President can fail and not make the entire Nation fail and B) To see to it that a President does fail when he deserves to fail. The United States is a government of the People, by the People and for the People. It is not dependent on any one man nor on one Party. What President Obama and the Democrat Majority in Congress are seeking to do is just so wrong on so many levels it absolutely MUST fail. This country cannot survive otherwise. As it is, the "Stimulus Bill" brought spending to unprecedented levels, followed by a massively pork loaded, 9,000 earmarked Omnibus Bill and now do you realize that Turbo-Tax Tim Geitner is proposing another trillion dollars in spending? You can hope America does not become a Socialist Nation or Third World Country all you wish. If Obama succeeds that is exactly what will happen. HE MUST FAIL if America has any hope of succeeding. *

Some organizations have short-term au pair programs for young people, but if you are talking about hiring a full-time, long-term domestic and taking her to the US to work for you, you cannot do that. There is no immigrant or non-immigrant category for that type of worker. you will have to find your nanny in the US.

I suggest you have a free consultation with an immigration lawyer, they can tell you what is needed. Or contact the local INS, but they are much harder to talk to. Good Luck!

You can't. The US isn't issuing visas for unskilled labor at this time.
