Do muslims believe in a messiah?
Do muslims believe jesus was a/the messiah (I don't, I'm jewish).
If not, what do they think jesus was?
Do muslims think there are more prophets after mohamed?
What is islam's view on the bible ("old" and "new") and of the talmud?
What do you think of jews and christians and other people of other religions?
Please, only muslims answer.
and please keep answers short. I won't read them if you just copy/paste a book into your answer. (and if you can, don't quote the koran. its just annoying for me.)
thanks for your help.

dali,
it bothers me b/c of its archaic style, and it usually adds nothing which someone couldn't just sum up in a few words (instead of a whole paragraph quote), and as a Jew, I'm not fond of reading other religions scripture.
Again, its not a BIG deal, but its my preferences. (and thanks for your reply.)
may I ask -- in what ways do you consider the bible altered and as such, what credence does the bible (as we have it) play in your religion. in othe words, would a quote from the bible mean anything to you, even if it went against your beliefs? (and how, historically and pracitcally speaking, do you think it was altered?) thanks again.

Jesus is the messiah. He is a Prophet like Moses and Mohammed.
Mohammed is the last Prophet.
Quran mentions the holy books of Jews & Christians (Bible & Toarah) this was Muslims will know that these are holy books, but it does not mention an opinion of them.
We are ordered to respect all Prophets. We feel that Jews & Christians are brothers.
You seem to be a polite person, why say quotes from Koran are annoying, it hurts you know. You could have said: "no quotes pls".
You are welcome.

Generally, we believe Jesus was Messiah. With regard to Muslim belief concerning the Messiah (peace be upon him), it is based on the evidence of the Qur’aan and Sunnah. The Messiah ‘Eesa (Jesus) – (pbuh) – is one of the greatest Messengers. Muslims believe that ‘Eesa (pbuh) was taken up by Allaah into heaven alive, and that he was neither crucified nor killed.
No. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the last of all prophets who got divine revelations. Whoever claims prophethood after him is a liar and hypocrite. (This is true, you can see there is no religion after Islam which could ever manage to have massive impact like Islam, Judaism or Christianity)
We believe that Bible was itself a pure revelation from God, but with time, it was altered by people. Some verses were taken away and some were put into it. And also other alterations, such as whims of the authors where added into it.
We believe that Jews and Christians are "People of the Book". It is frequently mentioned in Qur'an. It means these two groups had their prophets from God upon whom the divine books were revealed. To Muslims, Jews and Christians are spiritually superior to any other groups of religions.
About the alterations in Bible, it is not only Muslims claim. After scrutinizing bible many non-Muslim analysts and institutions concluded that Bible never remained as "it was revealed". Please refer to my answer in the link below:

we believe in jesus as previous prophet before our Prophet He had a very good character and he tried a lot to transfer the message of God to people but he was a human not son of God...there won't be a prophet after our Prophet because His message was sent to all people and all times after Him until the end of the world which is not far from now... Both jews and christians are closer to Muslim people their religion was sent from God Despite of the fact that they altered the original messages ( original form of the bible was the one that of existing at the time of Jesus not the current ones)they are still closer to Muslims because they have believe to God ... All the best : )

Muslims follow their scriptures and it has been preseverd since it was revealed.
Regarding the Bible, I think its basically known that it was edited by the church and such. It was put together by people who came SEVERAL years after Jesus. The Christians is that such people were guided by the holy spirit. I personally don't buy it, because a lot of rulers were corrupt and because of the fact that there are so many contradictions and such.

No more prophet after Muhammad, but Messiah will come down again nad judge by Islam law (Qura'n ).
{ Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.}
{It was We who revealed the Law (to Moses): therein WAS gui

Bible and Talmud got corruption from people therefore
Allah said for Qura'n :
{We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).} >.
