Absolutely not. Adhering to comforting delusions does nothing to better ourselves or society. Living a lie, even a very convincing and seemingly beneficial one, is still living a lie.

Right now someone in some other country thinks that you should believe in Buda, or Ra, or whatever else is out there. A Christian would say that is selfish and ridiculous; ironically they think the same way about Christians. "Who are they to tell me that their God is the right one?" And in their eyes, the Christians are the ones going to hell for following false gods. Funny how it works.

Anyways, it would not make a difference if we all believed in the same God; we would just find another reason to fight each other.

I wish that everyone could find that peace and comfort that comes from knowing and having a personal relationship with Him, but I realize that this will never happen. I can only try to live in a way that is pleasing to God, and hope to share that love with those around me.

I personally believe in God. No, i believe everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. But it would be nice that people look to a higher being for support and guidance.

I think everyone should be here to better themselves spiritually- however they want to call it or do it, as long as it doesn't hurt others.Otherwise aren't we the same as all the animals? Maybe that's religion, maybe its climbing mountains and sucking in God at the top---his beauty or the earths- however you want to think of it- maybe its helping others- if we all were doing SOMETHING wouldn't it just be a better place?

Yes, but according to that statement, they could believe that they're God or that a false religion's deity is God.

No one is obligated to believe in God. Even God Himself will not force anyone to believe in Him.

However, I must say...The rewards in believing God are stellar!

i think everyone should be allowed to believe in whatever they want to believe...

the problem is that most people have already a bias or a perception on other people's belief system that they do not even make an effort to affirm their perceptions.

& worst most people once they believe (or not believe) in something, it takes a really catastrophic event for them to be shaken up to rethink their belief system & to even consider studying other faiths.

so, i say in normal or good times, check all philosophies & belief systems & see where your heart will lead you to believe...

do not be ignorant on such matters.

I believe everyone should be free to follow the conviction of their heart, to speak their view peacefully, and to decline to listen to another's view with courtesy.

How great the discussions here are when people remain polite, and how hideous when they turn to nothing but, "I'm right," "No, I'm right!" "No, my god could kick your god's @$$!" "Your god doesn't even exist!".... it just goes round and round in circles.
