oo, really good question. To my knowledge I don't know any pagans, but when I converted from Methodist to Mormon, my family thought I had abandoned Christianity altogether and my Mom in particular had/has some MAJOR problems with it.
Part of me says that I would attend, if for no other reason than to show my support for that person, for change, for that person being brave enough to examine their beliefs and take a stand and make a choice.
But another part of me says, NO - I absolutely would not attend. The conviction of my beliefs would absolutely keep me away. I can't be a part of something that seems so wrong. We're counseled to keep away from all things that may even look like they're wrong, so how could I possibly attend such a thing?!
It would be a difficult choice for me, I think. I think the closeness of my relationship with that person would also play a part in my decision.
Again, good question!

I"d go because my pagan friends have gone to mass with me. That doesn't mean that I will change my religion, but if I was asked to attend someone's (family or not) handfasting, I'd go. I'd also suggest that they get a marriage liscense from the courts so that it's a legal marriage in case of any illness and insurance issues.

I don't think so. I couldn't attend an affirmation into a false religion. The handfastnings is a wedding ? I may go to that , I have been to many weddings of non believers. It would depend on what it means.

I would not attend. If my son or daughter married in a false church I would not attend. I would still love them and communicate with them, but I would not do something that would give the impression that I approved of either the false church or their marrying in it.

I am presuming that these are types of weddings? I do not know. It would depend on where it was held and if I could take the time off.

I'd bring a video crew and plead the blood of Jesus on the entire assembly.

It would be really hard for me because it they are family and I would want to support them, but no, I would not be able to go because I could not support what they were doing.
