For 5-6 years I've had my hair lightend to be a blond. I'm tired of trying to keep it up and spending the money to do it. I'd like to make it the natural color again. Anyone been through this with suggustions? My husband likes it blonde but will not be upset if I change it, he just prefers blondes.

I like both brown and blond but really its your choose though I have to worn you that after treating your hair this long the color might be permanently damaged and if not than it will still look weird when your changing it back what I suggest is that you color it your natural color and then it will just fade back naturally. That didn't make much sense but the point is it will look way better than just going from blond to brown in several months. Hope this helped!

I sort of do the same thing, although I don't have a hairdresser do it; I use a hairgel that gradually lightens my hair from a medium brown to a dirty blonde. I only do this for about 6 months, then I let it grow back to its natural color. I do this for the variety, and I typically get good comments on it.

My advice to you is if you want to go back to your natural color, then by all means... do it! I would suggest reverting back gradually, maybe have it colored to a lighter shade of brown. Then, after your husband has grown accustomed to it, color it darker, closer to your natural color. After that, you can let your natural color grow in if you like, or try some highlights, it just depends on if you want to stop visiting the hairdresser.

I just hope you weren't a "blonde" when you married your husband, otherwise he may not take to your natural color so well. But if he loves you wholeheartedly, he'll adapt and get over it. Good luck!!

I use to do the same thing as you...

*uck your husband do what you want to do,,, he is get upset like that, means he really doesn't love you,,, He just loves the blonde thing..

I not sure how old you are I am in my middle 20's and keeping up with the blonde hair when my hair is going dark. I didn't look good.. Just go with the flow of thing's... If you don't like the browns color hair the good news is you can always go back to the blone

I would start slowly with more of a dark blone,,,

Good luck,

I know what you mean. I want to do this too. I hear you need to have a professional do it because they put a "filler" in your hair so that the porous bleached strands will actually hold the darker color when you dye it. I've gone back to my natural color once (and went back blonde again) from the box and it all faded out in like a week...then I had like a dingey color left. So go to a pro and have them use a filler so the color doesn't all rinse out.

yes , i think u should go back to ur natural color. First, because dye just damages your hair in the long run, yea sure it looks good now and people may complement it, however, what people dont think about is when they turn 40 and most their hair is gone, its not due to genetics alone..its also because of all the chemicals that you put in it, same thing with tanning, you look good now however you also get wrinkles quicker. Plus, nothing is better than natural, its who you are dont try to hide it [=....and if your husband doesnt like your natural hair color than thats his problem and i think he married you for you, regardless your hair color and if he's a true husband he'll have no problem with any color and you save lots more money and time ...trust me..i hope my advise helps you

well keep it blonde for now, since you've just had it done, so that must have cost quite a bit. change it back to brown when the roots start showing, and then for a change you could add blonde highlights. highlights look fine even when the roots start showing so you dont have to worry about touching up. if your husband likes you blonde, perhaps you could speak to him about paying for the hairdresser!

I say go back to your natural hair color. Maybe its just the way you have your hair, or the length of it. Find what fits you or more importantly your face.
Also the more you change your hair the more white and gray it will be in the next thirty-fourty years.
