If you love your friend you will not worry about such things as 'normal life spans'. All that is important becomes compressed into a new 'time frame' . . spending quality time together, doing whatever your friend wants to do, making the best out of a rotten situation, maintaining a positive attitude at all times. We quickly learned to 'live within the box' . . not to look ahead at something we could not prevent, but to concentrate on the present day. If your friend is alive today . . and in relatively good shape, then rejoice and give her your undevoted, unconditional time. Make sure she lives life every day to her fullest capacity. Make memories. Enjoy her company.

I am sorry, your friend has advanced cancer, that has already metastasized to her bones. Small cell lung cancer is very aggressive. It is more sensitive to chemotherapy, but carries a worse prognosis and is often metastatic at presentation. This type of lung cancer is strongly associated with smoking.
Given her age, and her complications, it does not look good for her overall survival. If the chemo is successful, then if she remains cancer free for 5 years, it is likely not to reoccur.

The cancer spreading is not good...especially if it goes into the bones. And if it spread from the lung to the thigh....I doubt she will live very long.

I'm sorry.

Please accept my prayers for you and your Friend.

Unfortunately a diagnosis of cancer is never a good one. However with all of the new medications now on the market, hopefully they will be able to help her to live the rest of her life to the fullest.

Have a lovely rest of the day....Bright Blessings...

Here is a link to a book on amazon about a natural body cleansing diet, that is said to cure all disease. Might as well go for it. Be sure to read the customer reviews.
