Overpoplation is bad for the environment. More people means less natural land to sustain wildlife and natural resources. I've heard estimates that there are anywhere from 11 million to 40 million illegal aliens in the US. They are drinking up the water, putting gas fumes in the air from cars, filling the land fills with more garbage and contributing to the littering of National parks. Clearly, anyone who doesn't belong here legally is increasing polution of all kinds by whatever percentage they represent in our population.

I can conceive of how it might be.

Illegal immigration brings more people to an area than the local census can account for. Funds to maintain the infrastructure... water, roads, trash disposal, power usage, environmental remediation are based on those census figures. More people than accounted for means less of the tax money gets used than is required to account for the impact.

However it is really dubious to me that any local government actually does accurate or honest cost accounting in the dispensation of tax funds for such things, largely because most of the public doesn't make connections like this in their thinking. People are really pretty unaware of what their taxes do, and not particularly concerned to find out. It distracts from watching tv...

Yes, have you ever seen how they destroy land along their routes into the U.S.? They leave behind trash, human waste, etc. It is unbelievable how much damage they do. They will cut fences that farmers use to contain livestock. They destroy the environment all along the path here.

If you call all the trash along the border as 'environment' then yes they are. In particular Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Arizona.

In the sense of the tons and tons of garbage left from their trek to the border. The pot fields and the shanty towns built in National Forests. The overcrowded housing and the damage to our systems and the public restroom use in lawns and such.
Not to mention the continuing sprawl of too many people here.

Yes, that is in regards to the ridiculous amount of trash they leave in the desert when they cross the border. I think it's a rather weak argument really. There are much better arguments for not allowing them to cross or be here. For one, it's a law we instituted democratically.

yes, haven't you seen the pictures on the news? they drop their clothes at the boarder and put on brand new Americanized clothes, so they will blend into America.

there are millions of pounds of their clothes and shoes and underware, water bottles and plastic bags, in our beautiful Nation Forests and all along the boarder, it is a mess!

the also hide out in the hills of Ca. and live in "tramp camps". they are responsible for setting some of Ca. wild fires.
