Was told today that I need to replace the engine in my car. I have a 1998 Ford Fiesta Zetec and it would cost me about £500/£600. He is a friend of the family and he advised me that I should just part ex the car and I'd get about £600 for it in it's current state. I'm really unhappy as this is my first car and I've already had a new exhaust, back box, clutch and headlights. I am unsure what to do now, I really want a new car but have no savings and really bad credit. What would be the best thing for me to do - buy a new engine or part ex it and try and get a car on finance, if I do get finance where should I go based on the fact I have a poor credit history.

hi there
it all depends on weather the rest of the car is any good and does it have any sentimental value to you.
if you have already spent a lot of money on it is it worth spending that much money on it.
if you get a new car on finance you will pay alot of interest personally i would put another engine in it and run it keep it serviced reguarly.
hope this is of help to you

Are you particular you may exchange the engine? what's the right project? a sparkling engine might definately value you nicely over £six hundred. As for a factor ex, does the motor vehicle even run atall? In sturdy situation your in all risk finding at approximately £900 for a factor ex yet while the shopper might desire a sparkling engine then that drops the area ex value to approximately £one hundred so your quite chucking up the sponge the two way. feels want to procure a bad automobile there... the two that or the garages are taking you for a experience. With below-average credit your extraordinarily lots out of large fortune for financing a sparkling automobile except you want to apply between the cowboy companies jointly with particular automobile credit which will probaby depart you paying some grand for some thing worse than what you have now which you would be paying for long after the motor vehicle is scrapped. If I have been you i might evaluate paying for a inexpensive automobile for perchance £200 - £3 hundred which will final you some months till prehaps you are able to cope with to pay for somethign greater suitable or enhance your credit. notwithstanding you do i might advise against paying for the hot engine as by the way you describe the motor vehicle it sounds like it is going to basically be some greater months formerly some thing else is going on it.

i had to replace the engine in my car...and its still a piece of shitt....your gonna have to keep fixing it untill it completely dies, cuz thats what i've been doin with my car for the past 6 months. I bought it for $2,000 and i've put in about $5,000 fixing it...i dont have any money saved either and i have terrible credit, but if you finance a car they will give it to you with bad credit, your intrest rate will just be higher. I'd advise selling it, or trading it in and gettin a new one before you make the mistake i did by fixin it over and over again.

Get rid of it immediately, and if you have bad credit you'll be forced to deal with people like yes car credit (do a search and you'll find them easily enough) they will finance anyone but you'll pay high APR's unfortunately.
