We bake cookies and other snacks and do knock and run deliveries...

In the 12 days leading up to christmas we choose someone to give the twelve days too ...

a partridge in a pear tree! (A can of pears)
Two turtle doves, (2dove candy bars)
Three French hens, (A feather druster dressed like a french maid)
Four calling birds, (A duck call)
Five golden rings, (5 glazed donuts
Six geese a-laying, (1/2 dozen eggs)
Seven swans a-swimming, (Bathing cap)
Eight maids a-milking, (a pint of milk)
Nine ladies dancing, (dr scholls padded insert)
Ten lords a-leaping, (A miniature crutch)
Eleven pipers piping, (kazoo)
Twelve drummers drumming, (a drum ornament)

Each present is delivered to the door step (knock and run style) with the verse to the song...

We each open 1 gift Christmas Eve (usually pajamas with a small item) so we look nice in Christmas Morning pictures..

When my kids were little I used talc and stencils to make Santas boot prints reindeer hooves and sleigh marks on the front lawn...

We leave santa something to eat and drink. Leave the reindeers some carrots on the door and some water in a dish. When my son is in bed i sually hang streamers everywhere and i mean everywhere hanging from the ceiling. I blow up loadsa balloons and leave them all over the living room floor. I then let off loadsa confetti party poppers off following all the way up the stairs and in the living room. My son thimks santa has done it, We are not allowed in the room until we have checked whether the reindeers have had their carrots and water. Then i let my son in the room he goes mad cause there balloons, streamers and confetti every where.

we do the talc foot prints too! but we do them over to the mince pie and milk (carrot for the reindeer) and then up the stairs into the kids bedroom and leave a little present at the end of their beds and also into the toilet so it looks like father Christmas has had a wee! and we always read "the night before Christmas"

Hve you heard of magic Reindeer food. Mix regular cooking oats(oatmeal) and craft sparkles in a baggie and tell them santa sent it in the mail for them to sprinkle out on the lawn christmas eve. The sparkles guide santa to your house in the moonlight and the oats are a tasty snack for the reindeer. My kids are 8 and 7 and they still love doing this!

We live in Spain so its always a slap up dinner at midnight! But for the kids we leave the mince pie, beer, and carrots, my kids wake up every year telling you they heard or saw santa!

I always write a xmas card with my left had to them off santa, thanking them for the treats, and the writing is bad as hes soooo cold!

We leave mince pies and a glass of milk for Santa. Carrots and Parsnips for the reindeer's. The children write a thank you note to Santa. Before I go to bed I half eat everything and scribble a note back saying they are great and hope they enjoy their pressies. My daughter always used to race and read Santa's note before opening her pressies. Shes 10 now and we do the same for her younger sisters.... I think it makes it a bit magical for them and I enjoy this too.

Ummmm, you may get answers you don't like. As for time apparently it is a constant, however, Christmas Eve is a magical time. Go to bed, read a book, and think happy thoughts.

Have them frost cookies and then put them on the fireplace for Santa to eat--that's what we always did. Or, have them write a letter to Santa telling him how they can't wait to see what he's brought them in the morning. Then, after they go to sleep you can write a fake note and sign it "Love Santa" and they'll think he wrote them back! My parents did that with me once--it freaked me out! :-)
