EWW black licorice is GROSS...you know they make a cherry and a black licorice Nyquill?? yeah my mom used to make me take the Black kind with some milk...EWW...talk about sickening!!! I LOVE LOVE the red licorice...yum!

Actually, the red stuff isn't actually licorice, since licorice is the term for the plant that gives the black kind it's flavor. The other color would be more appropriately called something like "strawberry candy whips."

BLACK!! Technically speaking RED licorice isn't licorice at all. Real licorice (black) has ANISE for the unique flavor. If you prefer the red licorice you're just a candy a*ss!

The original flavour of licorice is black. Our generation has grown up with both, so we seem to choose the red (even me) as our preference. However, there are over a dozen different kinds of licorices, all depending on the sweetness and peppery taste...

I love the black, but seems like I can't eat as many in a short period of time, cause the taste is more over-powering than the red. But love the red better for that reason.
