Your vet will give you a list of instructions for post-surgical care, and you need to follow those directions. Mostly, pets are like small children -- they will eat, sleep and play according to how they feel. If your puppy doesn't feel well enough to play, she will sleep. If she feels okay to run around and play, then let her. Both of my dogs -- one male and one female -- slept for most of the first day and then were a-okay after that.

Your pup just went through a major surgery, she wont feel like running around for a few days. my cat just got fixed and it took him a few days to get back to normal. Just make sure that your pup os comfortable and that she's got plenty of food and water. Try to not hold her or pick up her, but do love on her and let her know in a soothing tone that it's ok..

i spayed my 2 lb chihuahua and trust me she could not move. she was in horrible pain. she will NOT move or run around that is for sure( this only applies to little dogs.) big dogs will just lay threre but not fool around for atleast 3-4 days. good luck.

Spaying did not make my little puppy any less hyper. Wish it had.

use a baby gate to confine her to one room, if she not crate trained, otherwise let her spend time in her crate, she will feel safe and comfortable in there. Does she have a doggy bed? Wash it, maybe give her of your worn "dirty"? shirt/socks/nightgown or somnething with your scent on it. My dog loves to lay in my dirty laundry piles onwash day. its comforting to be surrounded by the scent of "mom"

SHE WONT BE SO HYPER ANYMORE! AND JUST DONT GRAB HER TUMMY GIVE HER TREATS AND LOVE HER LOTS. SHE WILL MOST LIKELY STILL BE SORE FROM SURGERY SO SHE WILL NOT HAVE MUCH ENERGY TO RUN AROUND AND SHE WILL NOT BE VERY HYPER ANYMORE SINCE SHE IS FIXED SO I DONT THINK YOU WILL HAVE TO WORRIE ABOUT THAT

I would suggest a comfy lap, a movie and some serious cuddle time with mom :)

put her in a her crate, if she has one. If she doesn't, this would be a good time to introduce her to one.
