the cd deffinatly has the files on it. is there any way i can repair the cd or extract the files. i have tried another pc.. any info would be a great help

I think you have answered your own question, if neither computer "sees" files on the CD, then there are no files on the CD.

Is there a slim chance that the media you have is actually a DVD disc, and you're putting this into a CD player? A DVD disc cannot play on a normal CD, so your system won't be able to read the files.
Also, DVD's have different formats i.e. + (plus) and - (minus) formats. If it is a + DVD then you must use a drive that can read this type of disc. The - format is the more popular one.

Yes, You had* photos on that cd.
