When in doubt...just remember that it's 5 o'clock somewhere.

Time is not as important as what you will be doing after you drink. Plan to be either staying at home or somewhere overnight, or plan to take a cab, or get a ride from a sober friend.
On the other hand, if you're not in Vegas (where drinking is 24/7), if you start after Noon, you are not yet an alcoholic. The further away from Noon you can wait, perhaps the further away from being an alcoholic you are.

I drink alcohol after any argument or stressfull situation. Also, after dinner, if it is a weekday, often immediatly after work, and on weekends, any time after a good breakfast is acceptable. However, after a funeral, it is advised to drink before getting to the wake (reception), if you are getting married a steady supply of alcoholic beverages should be consumed constantly for three days prior too, and up until the very moment you say "I Do"....and coincidentaly, if you are already married, you should be a full blown alcoholic and make sure you stay plenty inebriated anytime you are within 120 feet of your spouse... if you are divorced, you should spend all your time in a bar trying to pick up a member of the opposite sex, so you would most likely be drunk a lot... if you are a senior citizen and no longer have sex.. then you know the answer already

Depends what your day is like, if you are at school you shouldn't be drinking at all, if you are at Uni or College, just start drinking when you go out with your mates and if you are working, then drink whatever time you are going out. There is no 'better' time to start drinking really it just depends on the circumstances under which you have access to alcohol - just don't end up like those losers who drink all the time almost every day - it's all good in moderation.

It is all relative.. IF IT IS AT A BAR, it is 5 o'clock somewhere! If at a non-bar social setting, then I would say 5 o'clock your time. If it your home, do as you please.
When I drink in public, it is usually at the bar on Sunday morning. I work nightshift, so I will go out with some co-workers after working Saturday night and start drinking at 8 in the morning.. Old farts are always giving us dirty looks.. but it is a **BLEEPING** BAR! If you don't like it, GO BACK TO IHOP!!! :P

Are you British? You sound it. We tend to think that the evening is a more acceptable time to drink but unfortunately a lot of people then drink far too much. If you lived on the continent then it's more acceptable to drink at any time of the day but not go mad. I think that's a far better idea.

Depends on the day of the week and if you drank anything the night before. During the week I would say after work, around 6 or 7 and on the weekend anything goes. If you drank the night before and have a hangover, nothing will cure that faster than a beer.

I'm sorry but if you have to ask this question you are already on your way to alcoholism. Timing towards your next drink. I suggest you try any town pub called The Horse and Jockey where you will find like minded drinkers.

it is socially acceptable to have A drink at any time Gin fiz or bloody mary in morning, wine or such with lunch, cocktail with dinner, but to get sauced is never socially exceptional. However having multiple drinks at get togethers is normal at whenever time it starts, but it is not appropriate to drink at a much faster pace then the host. Always use them as a guide.
