It's usually a sign of poor diet....not getting the six servings of veggies and fruits and too much refined foods or excessive meat consumption...also can be from excessive alcohol usage.

Oh, God...i can't believe some of these answers..
the odor comes from bacteria that have multiplied in the moisture of his sweat glands.
some of these people have it right. it may be his diet.
He needs to eat a sensible diet and then shower with an antibacterial soap.
more veggies than protein is what he also needs, this will raise his resistance to disease and fight off bacteria lurking in his pores. actually, the more you sweat the more you will expel the bacteria.
Here is an online article about this very subject
If this continues, there may be a more serious cause and you should consult a doctor.

There might be an answer to this problem by adding a cup of apple cider vinegar to a tub full of water to bathe in. I am an old great grandmother, and I know the wonderful results I have seen over the years using apple cider vinegar for almost every kind of health and beauty problem there is. Sometimes, the least of all products works miracles! All you can do is try it and see!

Maybe time his showers better. If he has that bad of a problem, he might want to consider batheing more. Say once before work, once after work, and once before bed. Also, maybe try a deoderant soap. Most male brand bar soaps make deoderant soaps. It will help keep him smelling freash longer.
Not really sure what else to tell ya...good luck.

Continue bathing and shampooing every day. Drink lots of water -very important-, and make some changes in diet. Cut down on eating beef, instead eat chicken and fish and lots of fruit and veggies. If that doesn't work have him see a doctor.

I'd say this is something in his diet.. something that he is eating that isn't agreeing with him. He needs to try to find out what that is.
In the time being he should try shampoo on his body, and under his arms etc. when he showers..

might be what he's eating. strong foods such as garlic & fish have a strong odor which comes out thru the pores during the digestion process. maybe if he changed his diet it would help. i'd say it's better to see a doc just to be safe.

Could be a gland problem. If he has a strenous job where he works hard and sweats then that explains the sweat and odor.

Is he over-weight? Make sure he drinks lots of water throughout the day and some stretching exercises.
