Although Vista will run (barely) with 512Mb, you will probably not be happy with less than 1Gb RAM, preferably 2Gb!

Also, you will need to check your video card... if it is not a full featured (or worse, integrated on motherboard) with 256Mb of RAM you will not get all the features of AERO (the Vista graphic engine).

You do not mention (also) if your CPU (and motherboard) is 64bit ready... This is an important factor (but not 100% required) in runnng Vista!

See the references below for more info from Microsoft and other sources...

sadly no. you will need at least 2GB of Ram (4x more than what you've got) ideally 4 GB of Ram. your processor may only just be able to keep up with Vista. your hard drive should handle Vista depending on how much stuff you have saved onit. BUT on Microsofts Website they do say that your setup will work (see the link below) but in real world tests it has show to be extremely slow, ideally Windows XPshould have at least 1GB or RAM.

It is correct that you will be able to successfully operate vista with your parameters. You do need more RAM, bad. 512, is very low. Upgrade that and you will be in good shape. You can get ram that is very well priced at www.newegg.com just be sure that you get the same type and that you have available slots on your mobo. Some only have 1 RAM slot.

Yeah you will definitely want more ram , a good graphics card is also a necessity for Vista.

You'll need much more RAM.

1.5 GB would be good.

The rest is OK, though the 64 bit is best suited.
