Or is that one of the stupidest ideas yet? Its like putting a bandaid on cancer -

Why dont we just install a bunch of bug lights and assume they will zap the illegals as they cross? Its about the same, dont'cha think?

Hopefully it will show the die hard Republicans that 'we, the people' can choose to vote AGAINST their continuing big-spending, divisive behavors . . .by voting DEMOCRAT or INDEPENDENT ---

Unless they line the fence with mines and deadly invisible lasers, I don't think it will be very effective. The only thing it will do is make it a little harder for smugglers to get their guns and drugs over the fence. Then again, there are still 1,300 miles of border that will not have any fence at all. I think this is just another publicity stunt by a government that refuses to address the issue effectively because they are being paid too much by the corporations hiring illegals and running small business and the middle class into the ground.

yes, in San Diego after they built a fence the crime where the fence was built dropped by 90%.

a 700 miles fence on a 2,000 mile boarder is a good start. we will make them build it all the way!

so, start screaming people!!!!!

I believe the crime rates on both sides of fenced area will lower. It will make it harder to cross also. We will have to monitor it though.

I think it's not going to be completely effective.

But at least it's a start.

700 miles today...another couple hundred in a couple of years....it could work...if the government really wanted it to.

Nope, I think it'll help... already been proven in San Diego...they can put in fence anyplace they think it'll do the most good...
