Yes, but not the type of sugar that we eat its natural and is added when the onion is in the middle of growth by the nutrients of the soil, its perfectly healthy and isnt bad for you like the sugars made from sugar cane

Onions dose contain sugar..try frying them until golden brown in colour then taste ..they are very sweet
