i live in the uk and hate it.
what ever your race make sure that you go to a town where there are more of your people because you will be a victim of racism if you dont.
im in high school, so if you are talking about university it might not matter where you are because people are mature by that age and most of those who are racist have dropped out of school.
i think you should come but go to a big massive town like London. it is so cool and you are never bored cause there are a million things to do and see.
if you live in America, you have to take into consideration that the UK in the size of one state- which means the houses here are quite small unless you are a celebrity and can afford to live in a mansion.
ive heard the clothes are more expensive here, but that wont matter if you get a job.
the teachers here are quite good but you might have to get used to their accents first!
anyway, what ever you chose, remember that this is the way i see England and your view of it might be totally different.
good luck and god bless (this is the longest answer i have written - lol)

I just spent a year studying in China, and I swear it'll change your life in so many ways not related to study. Perhaps this is why your parents don't want you to go. Is it for cultural reasons, I wonder? Maybe they're worried about you. But if you're determined, keep trying to persuade them - you won't regret it.
GOOD LUCK!!! I hope you make it.

Yes why not? Your parents are afraid to let you go, but every parent is afraid of that. Studying abroad broadens your mind. Studying period broadens your mind. So if you want to study (and you should i think), ask your parents if they support that decision. After that ask them why they don't want you to do that in the UK. It's probably just because they are afraid to let you go. Frankly, that's their problem.

Technically you should go but... there's other things you should take into account such tuition fees, cost of living and etc... You must remeber, pound sterling is the highest currency.. You might need to suffer loss in forex..
