Does this prove that Islam and Western culture are incompatible? What do you think of this Islamic belief? I just can't rationalize it using my Western mindset. I appreciate the help in understanding.

Autumn D! What! the message is the woman has the right to dress as she wish, and the man should keep it zipped. YOU the woman blame the victim for being victimized!? oh boy! then we shouldn't blame him, the man for saying these things, if you think the woman should be blamed for being abused! Good God.

If he doesn't like it, he can turn his head away, and not look. He should show self respect, and self control not blame her for what kind of trash that goes in his pea size brain, and blame her for what he might do. Him and him alone, not her.

Although Islam claims that Sharia rules provide equal rights and opportunities to women, It is established beyond doubt by impartial observers that women are ill-treated in Islamic society especially in rural areas. There are many incidents which are coming to light only now due to the Western press. The case in point is the story of Mukhtarmai of Pakistan. The sharia law requires that to prove rape a woman has to produce four male witnesses. If she fails to do so she can be jailed for adultery. There are many such laws. There is hope however. The globalization has brought in new awareness which is bound to change things for the good.

I just asked a very similar question (which got buried by the bombardment of questions from the What Should I Do Retard) and I quoted this guy, who also said that the Sept 11 attacks amounted to God against the oppressors. Obviously his head isn't screwed on all the way.

Anybody who thinks a man can't control himself from raping a woman has a very low opinion of men as ignorant barbarians. There is nothing godly about the male human being raping a female, even if she's dancing naked down the street. Muslims like this one must have a very low opinion of not only his own sex but the "God" who created him.

when you walk around half naked then what kind of message are you sending to people?

think about that? also why do all men get mad when their sisters wear provactive clothing outside the house? hmmmmmm? think about it.

I think the cleric was very stupid in the comparison he made but the point nonetheless is still the same. Obviously he didn't know how to be politically correct therefore being offensive but the point is still the same.

exposed women do send out a bad message about their character BUT that doesn't justify rape. So I disagree with this cleric and I am a muslim woman who covers. Islam doesn't call for this kind of comparison nor does it allow for muslims to condemn the acts of non-muslims. This cleric was wrong.

For all the additional ignorant comments: jews and christians are also commanded to cover. HELLO! nuns and orthodox jews cover the same way muslim women cover. Did you ever bother to even look at the similiarities or do you just attack islam blindly. Grow up people and learn your own religion before attacking islam.

as far because the Muslim cleric in maximum countries the position women everyone is anticipated to be virgins even as they marry, it really is continually the girl's fault if she receives rape. that is in basic terms been contained in the ultimate 30 years that that is been customary that the girl isn't the only at fault for rape in western society. till women everyone is considered human and not in any respect property in those different countries there's no thanks to modify the mentality of the human beings there.

Yes, that seems to be the Muslim view. I suppose that means that Muslim men are brutes with no self control if they are so easily aroused. It also means that Muslim men do not want to take responsibility for their actions.

Now I suppose you will hear a big howl from a lot of Muslim men about this. But, think about it, guys. Do you want to be viewed like this? Is this really the way you are? If you really respect women as you claim to then take responsibility for your actions toward us and show some self-control.

This is not an Islamic belief. I do not believe this. My family does not believe this. My friends do not believe this. NO ONE I know believes this. Islam states that oppression is the worst crime, and this is the worst type of oppression. Men are responsible for their crimes, victims are NOT responsible for ANYTHING that happens to them.

I should know, I was assaulted while wearing hijab.

Islam is incompatible with ANY form of civilization. It is a religion for nomadic, desert dwelling, misogynists. The only reconciliation is for one to be triumphant over the other. I would prefer that to be the West.

I agree with what this poster said here very much.

I also think if a woman dresses to show flesh she knows what she is doing and knows what kind of attention she is drawing to her self so in a way it is her fault if something happens because she is sending that message look at me I want your attention but at the same time No woman deserves to be raped, but to avoid this from happening you should dress properly and at least have some respect for yourself.
