me and my hubby have a 3 month old 1/2 malamute and 1/2 husky girl and yestorday got a purebreed almost 2 month old St benard and we let them meet both on a leash but how long until I can let them outside to run and play together? My husky seems to think she is in charge.

If you aren't seeing any out right aggression - snarling, baring teeth, etc. You should be good to go. Especially if they are both wagging their tails. There will be some rough housing to determine the Alpha if they both have alpha tendencies but if one is submissive it will all be over quickly and they can become fast friends.

I agree with the answers above. Unless you see any obvious aggression, let them play together! They are pretty close to the same age and size, and it's important that they get acquainted if they are going to be raised together. My Lab was nearly 2 years old when I got an 8 week old German Short-haired Pointer puppy; they immediately became best friends, and, a year later, there aren't any problems at all. Good luck! Congrats on the new pups :)

Well if its 2 boy dogs or 2 girl dogs I would be careful. But if ones a boy and the others a girl just let them meet a couple times on the leash and if they dont seem to fight then let the them off the leash.

the good thing is they are both only babies yet so no real damage can really be done yet so id let them play now but they will fight iv got 2 german shepherds we got the fem 1st and she was massive to the male when we got him and she was only 5 months old when he was 2 months and now they are the best of friends she did bark at him but with him being so tiny to her he was really scared of her and did nothing but cry when she came near him but after a week we let them play and they have done that ever since they do fight but stop as soon as i tell them or they fight it out usually him winning as he is bigger than her now lol!!!

I agree with the other answers. It's often better to have dogs interact off the leash instead of on. You don't want your dog to think it's ok to play when they're on leash because they should be minding you. There also can be added aggression when on-leash because some dogs will be more protective of their owners when they are on leash than off.

If they aren't growling or acting mean to each other, let them go! Sounds like they'll be great friends!
