We're here (we're born) to gain experience and return to God - our Eternal Father. For some - certainly not all - and not all of a sudden/at death, they will become gods and will be given a place to create a world just as God created this one.
So to answer your question, yes.

That's the funny thing! The basic premise of Judeo-Christian theology is that God created humans--specifically patriarchal Jewish men) in his own image to be just like him!

Fact is, that the Jewish patriarchs created a God in their own image. Gave God lots of attitudes and attributes just like theirs, and then set him to kill all their enemies, give them lands, flocks, women, anything their little hearts desired.

I find the story less than enervating, actually.
