In todays age we have contributed alot of peoples odd behavior as being not of the social norm, and we even catergorized these behaviors as schitzophranic, split personalitie disorders, bi polar, manic depressant, or just plain psycho.
Now we are also aware that with some of these odd behaviors such as talking to yourself in second and third persons, halllucinating, that this could be from the effect of drugs(chemicals) In which is found in plant life. Now based on that could it be possible that the very beliefs we have structured from the prophets about jesus, god and burning bushes was really just an effect of chemicals from the plant life he digested, and did not have the vast learning tools we have today to know what he was, or was not experiencing. Today if someone was behaving in such a way would we not first think he was on drugs, or had a mental disorder. Is it ridiculous to suggest that Jesus was a man who was stricken with a mental disorder, compiled with chemicals of plant

in which everyone was digesting, and that the power of suggestion can manifest anything. Such as I once tripped acid, and someone asked me, just to be funny.
Why is your arm turning blue. I looked down at my arm and it was blue, I freaked out so bad I ran for the door thinking that I was dying. Now for alll of you who have found these words to be insulting of your faith I opologize, I am just suggesting, not converting. And based on what I just said what faith am I, do you care to speculate?

Anything is possible. These religious pioneers could have been inspired by chemicals or they could have had genuine spontaneous insights. They could even have been invented by committees who came along later. (We have only the scripture writers' word for their existence.)
The point is, do their ideas work? Profound insights derived under the influence of chemicals tend to seem stupid or incomprehensible in the light of sobriety. Spin all the theories you want about alternate states of consciousness or planes of existence, the predominant one requires the regular intake of nutrition and the payment of bills.
Even ideas that do work don't get a free ride. Anyone with a new or different idea is a threat to the status quo. People like their status quo. It either works for them or it's the "devil" they know.
Sociologists point out that "normal" is a statistical construct, averaged out of the degrees of deviance from that norm in the general population. In other words, no one is normal, everyone is deviant, to some degree, in some aspect. The word "deviant" has been made a synonym for "perverted" (a moral judgment) by those who are comfortable with the status quo and fear change. But everyone has notions that would shock others at first glance. They protect themselves by conforming to the norm in their public behavior, deviating only in private, perhaps among sympathetic groups. The people who speak out against the status quo and propose alternatives usually feel they have nothing to gain from the status quo and nothing to lose by defying it.
Any radical transformation of the social order will provoke a cost-benefit discussion. What will I have to give up? What will I gain? How many people have to sign on for this to be effective? Trailblazers always run the risk of being labelled delusional. After all, they see things that don't exist, yet. The real test of their goals is, can they exist? Should they exist? (And I'm not even addressing whether their successors are actually following their vision.)

I agree totally! Jesus was a normal (although popular) man who could very well have been a druggie, after all one of his claims to fame is making cheap booze!! It is no more ridiculous than believing a book written by bias people (who were either Jews or pagans coz Christianity could not have existed until after Jesus died!!) that has been translated f*ck knows how many times and chopped and changed over the last 2000 years.
What would happen if the world ended as we know it and we had to start from scratch, then in another 2000 years someone found and roughly translated a copy of the script for "Bruce almighty" or "The end of days"?

Jesus was a literary or mythological invention occurring over a period of time. He is an ideogical construction suited to an agenda the writers had namely a political one. what does the bible say? a lot of bad things about Romans and Arabs. the Egyptians had slaves (jews)... except modern archeological evidence (conduct by israelis) reveals there's no evidence for the egyptians even having slaves, the Exodus couldn't have happened the way the bible said. at most the Exodus was just maybe a few families. a lot of other things didn't happen either like the israelite conquering of Canaan. so how does the bible function? exaggerating the importance of one group of people while portraying other cultures as evil. why did/do people believe it? why did anyone believe nazi propaganda? it fit their agenda. the religion didn't really take off until it was adopted by various rulers. why did they adopt it? the bible is a tract preaching subservience to authority. it didn't have anything to do with chemicals or drugs.

That's one of the very reasons why God gives us prophecies through the Prophets. When they come true, we know what that person is telling us comes from God and it's not some kind of made up (or hallucinated) story. If Jesus and the Prophets were hallucinating, nothing would have come true. Yet, there are HUNDREDS of fulfilled prophesies. There are many more that await fulfillment.
For example, 30 years ago, who would have thought that Russia, Iran and Syria would become political allies? Yet, these things were prophesied more than 2500 years ago by Ezekiel. You can read about the upcoming invasion of Israel, lead by Russia, at Ezekiel 38 and 39. Then will you believe?
Peace.

Considering the Bible contains multiple books written by multiple writers over a time span of thousands of years, do you honestly think that all of these people are eating the same plants?
And what would you say to those of us that experience God now? Our prayers are answered and our lives are changed because we're eating plants or chemicals?
You might want to find out what chemicals those are so you can sell them. (note my sarcasm)
Just because you haven't experienced God or a spirtiual life, doesn't mean the rest of us are on drugs or hallucinating. There are simply things in life that you, personally haven't experienced. I hope that changes for you.

It's pretty well established that many native religious ceremonies included the use of hallucinogens. Makes sense to me that they were used by early Christians, too. Christians seem to forget that all the books of the Bible were passed down by oral tradition for many generations before they were committed to paper and compiled in the first Bible. So, drugs further exagerated over time makes a lot more sense than all the supernatural mumbo jumbo. Btw, I honestly don't understand why that being the case would challenge anyone's faith unless they need fairy tales to believe.

i think of human beings could be at liberty to have the opinion that they decide for. they ought to have the potential to precise there opinion, and people who pay attention (which must be fairly some human beings) ought to have an open recommendations, and probably replace there opinion. some comments won't grow to be something, even though it doesnt propose there valueless. in spite of if no person treasures your opinion, you need to. Its what makes you who you're.

You have to see Jesus in the context of the times he lived in . Ascetics, messiahs, revelations, miracles and testaments were features of everyday life. Jesus was one amongst many "mystics" who due to circumstances rose to prominence.

I think it's more likely that he was just a regular guy, but that long after he was dead people made up a bunch of stories about him, kind of like the Paul Bunyan story.
