Going to church is not going to make your life better! Sure you might meet some new friends and get to sing a few nice songs but other that it's all a bit pointless.

Going to church will have a big effect on your life - very big - you will have 52 fewer hours a year to do the important things you really want to do. Don't let people pressure you into trying to believe something that you don't believe. Religion is just a delusion that will complicate your life. Get out and meet some people you actually enjoy being with, and that will change your life. Do something positive - such as volunteer work - that helps other people, and your life will be better. The bible is a very interesting work of fiction, and reading it helps you understand a lot of obscure references that people make like "strong as Sampson," but it's not good to try to live your life the way some primitive superstitious desert tribe did thousands of years ago.

If you go to the right church (and presumably the two men you mention attend a good one), then you will be able to explore for yourself these important issues. But to become a Christian you must want Christ in your life and you must understand the demands which He will make upon you as well as the wonderful joy of forgiveness through His atoning sacrifice. Luke 12 v. 31 says "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you." This means that if you are eager to have Jesus in your life and willing to accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, then all the rest will follow. He has promised that everyone who seeks Him will find Him and that is what you have to do with all your heart. One thing I'm very sure of: both those young men must be praying for you. May God hear their prayers and may you find Him.

I think religion is inside us, me, for instance, I'm Catholic, but I'm not spiritual at all, maybe because, I listen and read to everybody and I can't believe that only one have the real truth...

Go to church, read the Bible and so on, will help you to find a faith, but if you think a lot about it and don't close your mind, maybe you find that in fact Religion is controlled by men, so, you finally will look for more answers...

Good Luck in your search...

Join a good Christian Church, I became a baptised Christian after years of just trying to do 'the right thing' but not succeeding. I have far more friends now than I ever had. Most important, I have a friend in Jesus, who cannot be bettered and is always with me. My life is free from worry, free from stress because I know He wishes me no harm, only good.

You say that you haven't had a good life lately. You are feeling vulnerable, and therefore you are exactly what the church is looking for - they prey on the young (because they will believe anything they are told) and the vulnerable (because they NEED to believe what they are being told). If you want to turn your life around, find some good friends who do not want to introduce their religion to you, and be positive in yourself.

If you're gullible and easily led then it will make you feel like you've been saved and forgiven and you'll feel slightly superior to all the non believers. You'll start to feel like God has a hand in your destiny and you'll actually think that a devine power is blessing you. If you're happy to live life as an automaton then your life will feel like it's 100% better because if you believe in God then you can use phrases like "Lord willing" and " in Gods hands" which automatically absolves you from any choice you make. One thought, Charles Manson was told by God to kill and he's a monster locked up and kept away from society, Abraham was told to kill his son by the voice of god and he's revered as a prophet, seems a bit odd to me.

I don't know what the church is like but I recommend trying it out. Pray to God to help you and reveal his truth to you. And read the bible- I recommend the gospel of John to start with!

Churches are good places to abstract from the daily struggles and meditate.
They are more effective when there is silence and no services.
Specially the old churches they have a very suggestive atmosphere.
