Can i do a lot w/ $500? If not, what are some ways to make my wedding the stunning, break-taking event I've always dreamed of w/ this budget?

I made all the bouquets and corsages, and spent only $40.

When looking at your entire budget, the flowers and decor should account for about 8% of money spent...so, depending on how large your budget is, that number could be a little low. I would suggest a few things...use more greenery in your arrangements, they are inexpensive and very dramatic; use flowers that are in season for the time of your wedding so they are readily available; don't make the corsages too large, or don't do them at all; make sure your bouquet is relatively small, to save on the number of stems needed; use leaves as accents for a fall wedding; use candles for centerpieces instead of flowers; or float candles with flower petals in a large bowl for centerpieces. Good luck!!

Yes, you can do a lot with $500. If you walk into the florist and say "Here's my budget, here's what I need," then you can compare what the different florists can offer for that price.

Keep your requirements low. You don't need altarpieces or ceremony decorations. People hardly notice the flowers anyway.

Your flowers will not make your wedding be a stunning, breathtaking event, so really you shouldn't worry about exactly what type of flower you're getting.

My fiance is budgeting about 600 dollars for flowers. But she is planning on both real and some artifical styles of flowers. I would imagine that $500 would be a good number to make your wedding stunning. All I can tell you is to shop around as prices vary at every florist.

I actually think $ 500 will do a lot with flowers, depends if you want florist work or just bulk to arrange them yourself. But flowers alone do not make a wedding stunning, the overall decoration has a lot to do with it.

I spent $600 and bought flowers online, the came the day before the wedding and there were tons of them! My mom and I arranged 30 huge center pieces and had a lot left over. If you can arrange them, you will be able to get many more flowers. Arranged flowers cost a lot more than bulk.

Depends what you are doing and what you need.
We are just getting
1 bridal bouquet
6 bridesmaids bouquets
6 groomen's flowers
1 groom flowers
8 corsages for mothers, sisters ects...
2 for dads

All ROSES, no filler, nothing else and that's costing me $800.
The Church does their own flowers we have to pay them a separate fee, and they are a historical church so it's $$$.

My cousin just did hers and she did the whole church, all the tables (about 25 round) and 8 bridesmaids/groomsman's plus moms, dads and grandparents but she had to use DAISIES and filler and only her bouquet was roses. And that was $1,000.

It really depends on the flower and how much you need. If you don't have as many bridesmaids and groomsmen, it's cheaper. If you use candles instead of flowers like we are doing, it's cheaper.

I would say for $500 you would be OK, for the bridal party and the church if you use cheaper flowers like Daisy's, carnations and mums.

If you are getting married at a church or synagogue call them and see if there is another wedding either before or after yours and ask to have that persons phone or email. Then contact them and see if you can use the same florist to split the cost and have a lot of nice flowers. Now granted, you may end up having different tastes but it's worth a shot. I did that and actually it worked out great, our colors were very similar and we ended up getting tons of flowers for only 1/2 the cost!

I made my own floral arrangements and bought the flowers in bulk from www.growingtulips.com. they were cheap and i just looked on the internet and in magazines and decided what i wanted them to look like, then I put them together. I bought 100 stems of tulips (out of season) for $140. This was plenty for my wedding because we only used fresh flowers for the bouquets, boutineers, corsages and the cake, and a few small arrangements. I wanted to decorate two days in advance so we used silk flowers for that.

I would used that $500.00 toward making your bouquet stunning. Then if you have anything left over then it can be used for the rest of the wedding party. I don't it will be enough to decorate with.

Way too much for things that'll be dead in a matter of a couple days.

You could go to a craft store like Michael's and use artificial ones...or use real ones, but just make more simple arrangements/centerpieces. Sometimes less is more.

Plus, the people that are allergic will appreciate it. lol.
