Can't believe some of the awful answers to this question!
It is alright to have sex with your boyfriend when you are over the age of consent (16 or older) and you have talked about it with him and discussed what contraception you are going to use and all your feelings about it. If it feels right and you have no doubts that you won't regret it and YOU want to, then go ahead.
Don't do it when you are drunk or anyone has been pressuring you to do it. Don't do it just because your girlfriends say they have done it. You will never get that first time back again, so don't just do it to 'get it over' because you will regret it if you do.
The first time should be special with someone you care about, and who cares about you too. You don't want it to be with someone who will dump you the next day, or describe it all to his mates, or tell you you were crap at it or whatever.
If you have to ask strangers on an answer board, then i would say you are probably not ready.
And when you do do it, please don't expect it to be a wonderful experience. Good sex comes with time and experience and a loving partner.
Good luck and always have safe sex.

You will know when the time is right. You'll be in that moment when you know that it just feels like the time and place to do it. But, no matter how right it feels, make sure that you feel comfortable enough in your relationship to have sex with him and be secure in knowing that moving to this next step will only strengthen your relationship, not tear it down or even ruin it. Lastly, talk about safe sex issues beforehand and then you will truly be ready when the time comes. Good luck, girl and wrap it up!!! lol.

I'm sorry to sound like a mean & grumpy old bag, but wait until you're married. No one benefits from premarital sex (although that's what the world & movies want to convince us of ....) I'm really sorry that I didn't wait for marriage. You know, it's really the only gift you can give your spouse - how rare and how beautiful it is when it is still unwrapped.
I know all your friends are probably encouraging you to get "with it", but in the end, you'll be better off.
I really hope you'll have the guts to hang in there.

I think that if you are under 18, I would say wait. I know that sounds stupid, but I made the mistake of having sex before 18 and at the time I didn't regret it. I don't think I regret it still, but I would have done it differently. I think that when you are young you get mixed up with the emotions, and boys don't see it the same. I think if your boyfriend really loves you, sex won't matter.

Yeah, you'll really know. You won't be afraid, you won't care about pain, it feels completely 100% right and comfortable, it is NOT a feeling of lust! You feel that later when you get horny! But being ready has nothing to do with arousal. It has to do with your state of being and of mind. You will trust that person, you won't care of the first time is awkward or short, you just want to be close to them that way. You also will be aware of the consequences that may occur from your actions, and you'll be responsible.

You will most definitely know when you are ready to have sex, don't EVER let anyone push you into having sex until you are ready. You will only end up resenting the person who made you have sex too early. Good Luck.

On your honeymoon night. If you have to ask this question you are too young or too immature to be having sex.

I guess you will know when you are confortable with him and feel ready to do it. It is natural to feel a little nervous/anxious but you should be sure and confortable with him. If you are DO NOT do it!
