I wish that it were so easy! Mankind has created so many ideas of how the Bible should be translated that it has created a dogmatic mess! The Bible clearly states that there is only one Lord, one fith, one baptism and etc. along with several other passages that refer to God's authorship through man's teaching and etc. yest we take it upon ourselves to deide what's "truth"? Shame on us! I don't need a "new King James", my old one will do just fine! I won't step on anyone's toes however, for all that does is cause discord among people who may be honest and sincere in their beliefs. Since only God can judge, I'll take my KJV, study, and pray I'm doing the right thing!

I'm all for that uniteing thing. Most miss the point. They get too locked up in the differences in religions and versions of the Bible. It doesn't matter what religion you follow or what version you read. It's what you believe, the example you follow and how you act that matters.
I remember one lady saying 'if the King James was good enough for John the Baptist, it's good enough for me.' Christianity grew the fastest and accomplished the most long before King James was ever a gleem in his fathers eye.

Those that believe in Christ are already united in his love. There's more that unite us than there is that divides us. Christ was before the scriptures. What good is it to know the bible frontward and backward when you do not do what it teaches? If you live out just one verse to its fullest you will accomplish what God desires of each one of us! Love one another as I have loved you! (even the Muslims)I have no idea why there was an answer from one.

Another NKJ? Geez they've already got how many "revised" versions of that one alone?
They are not going to unite. If you got them all together, they would argue over whether or not Jesus IS God... and would never get past that argument to actually decide what teachings in the Bible Could be from their God.

Back then they spoke Aramaic, are we suppose to all learn that language? I don't think so. Thats why we have translators. I think that all Bibles are just another translation. So if you prefer King James, MORE POWER TO YA! But as for me and my house we'll stick to NIV. Because thats what we understand.

Perhaps if God actually existed, he might set them straight. There seems to be a great shortage of real gods, though.

Jesus never spoke using 'thees' and ye's and 'thou art' and all that other KJ babble. I have five translations of the bible, and that's the last one I refer to.

"Know they not Allah Knoweth what they conceal and what they reveal? And there are among them illiterates, who know not the Book (i.e., the Bible), but (see therein their own) desires, and they do nothing but conjecture. Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say: 'This is from Allah,' To traffic with it for a miserable price! Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby. (The Noble Quran, 2:77-78)"
