Is "require" the word you should use here?

They come with accoutrement's because it seemingly gives the illusion of justifying the price you pay for them, and makes them look better to the drunks that drink them...

As a bartender for years and years... I never liked them myself because bar prep is a pain in the as*. but other people do, like they love all of their other pomp and circumstance and bits of show and bobble.

It's like hanging a designer bag off the arm of a supermodel. It says something to certain people... So we cater to their ego because they pay us to...

Its basically a garnish so the drink looks more flavorful and fun. In some cases the fruit is necessary for the taste of the drink; for instance, a cherry is added to a Manhattan for taste; also, the same way coffee beans could be added to an espresso martini.
Mostly it is for looks, but some drinks actually require the extra ingredients.

I like the fruit in drinks cause I like to eat it especially cherries in Mai Tai's. It's a nice touch.

**Hey bartender if we are paying for the drinks and tipping you then prep that bar!!!! :)

It's just a garnish. But if it's edible, like say dill pickle spears and cocktail onions and olives? Bonus!
