Sounds like you may have sciatica nerve pain. My mother has had this problem for years and I think she was prescribed Clonipin to alleviate the symptoms. You should talk to your doctor.

When you have one sided back pain that shoots into your glutes, leg or foot it is called sciatica. This occurs when a nerve in your lower back is pinched. Oftentimes this is pinched from a herniated disc. Unfortunately there is no quick fix for a herniated disc. You will need an mri. They don't show up in Xrays. For herniated discs doctors usually prescribe physical therapy, anti inflammatory medication, pain medication, and or nerve pain medication. If this does not help they may try a steroid injection in the disc or a nerve burn. If that does not help oftentimes they look at surgery.

First off, GO TO THE DOCTOR! It sounds to me like you have an injury to your"sciatic nerve" or Sciatica. It is an inflamation of the sciatic nerve which runs from mid-back ,through the upper leg, buttocks, etc. The dr. can at least give you advice for helping live with the pain as it generally takes a while for sciatica to completely go away. GOOD LUCK!

It sounds like sciatica,if you get the pain when you put weight through the leg, I suggest you go to your G.P, or casualty if it gets worse. It can get severe.Take some Ibuprofen until you see your Doctor,as there anti-inflametries and will help.

it would be your sciatic nerve. until you see a Dr. or Chiropractor, to relieve the pain try an hot water bottle (get these at a drug store pharmacy area)or a few warm showers. also, try some pain reliever that helps reduce inflamation. then go for a walk. the more walking you do will help strengthen and relieve the nerve.
