My kitty has very dry skin on her back. She actually has a touch of dandruff. Is there some sort of shampoo or moisturizer that I can put on her so the poor thing doesn’t look like she got caught in a blizzard? Thank you!

I give my cats fish oil once a week to keep their skin moisturized. Like when you buy tuna - get the tuna the kind in oil, drain the oil into your cats food... she will love it.

It's because your cat isn't getting the right amount of essential oils in their food. Somthing with fish oil or olive oil will naturally correct the problem in a few weeks.
It's not really a dandruff shampoo type of solution but the cat will like you better for a change in diet rather than a plunge in the bathtub.

You can try cod liver oil which tastes terrible or an over the counter product called Linetone (but fairly expensive). I would go with fish oil. Treat it internally (food) if you can because kitty head and shoulders just aint gonna make it. Lol
Good Luck

Shampoo will only dry her skin out more. Add olive oil to her food. Cut back on the dry food and give her more wet food. Salmon oil is also good. You only need a teensy bit in their food to help out.

You can also dab it on your finger tips then rub it into her skin. Just a teensy bit.

My dog has the same problem - I put a little olive oil in with his food and no more flaking.

head and shoulders wont hurt her skin, the Dr told me to use it on my son when he was a baby and he has eczema so its obviously very sensitive on the skin
