Athletes will always be ahead of the drug testers. There was a European soineur (the guy that handles recovery of the racers), that said that you'd have to be a donkey to not get away with cheating and that of all the athletes he worked with over twenty years, he could count on one hand the number that didn't cheat.

You can't tell me that Lance has twice the lung capacity of a normal person and never reaches lactate threshold or that his heart can pump twice the stroke volume. All of these pro cyclists are as gifted or are nearly as gifted as Armstrong.

He beat Pantani (a pure climber) in mountain stages while Pantani was found to have been cheating.

He beat Millar (a pure time trialist) in a time trial while he was found to have been cheating.

And in 2001 stage two he was right there with the sprinters.

One guy can't be the best at everything. That's like asking a football player to be quarterback, center, receiver, linebacker, kicker and coach. And he has to be better than the real players.

Impossible.

As I said before, though, I admire what he has done with his celebrity regardless of how he achieved it.

I don't believe he ever took any performance enhancing drugs. If he would have wanted to I don't believe the guy would ever have had a chance, every time he turned around they were sticking a needle in him somewhere, Home , motel rooms , events where ever.

I'm surprised he had enough energy left to compete after all the blood he gave to be tested.
Lets get real, all the testing came from the Frenches jealousy of being beaten at there own sport and having an American at the top of there game and having there hero's dethroned.

Even today after being retired for a year or more, the French are still making accusations and trying to find away to have him removed or discredited and there champions put back on top.

I always felt he did in his first Tour de France win, which made him go for 7 wins. Does that diminish him as an athlete in my mind? Absolutely not, the guy was in a league of his own. Ullrich and Tyler Hamilton among others cheated and they are still weren't good enough.

I do however think Eddy Merckx would have crushed him if he raced all the grand tours and classics every year. But unfortunately they are not in the same generation.

He trained very hard, everyday. 8-10 hours a day on the bike. If you read his book, it mentions how the cancer kinda helped him in the weight category. Of course, no one wants it to happen that way. He was a former tri-athlete, alot of muscle mass and not really ideal for world class cyclists. Post therapy, it was all about rebiulding the leg muscles. His VO2 max was of the charts. This is why he was such a good climber. No...he never took anything.

If he did dope, then there are others who understand too. i'm open to the possibility that he by no potential doped. Deep down, I wish and need that it is the God-honest actuality. yet, if he did dope and greater human beings understand approximately it, i'm hoping they arrive forward. If (stressing the IF) he did dope, i'm hoping he's someway busted. Does any of the above replace how i think approximately Lance's maximum cancers beginning? No way. I nevertheless proudly placed on the yellow bracelet, and that i pray that Lance's place in maximum cancers wisdom maintains to have an outstanding impact, and isn't any longer harm ought to information that he dope will become actuality and not in basic terms inuendo, rumors, or fake accusations.
