They are conected to a monster scart box and when the free veiw is on i cant use the dvd to record please help serious answers

If your dvd recorder has two scart sockets on the back, I'd plug the free view into one of those, rather than into your monster scart ... then you could record all the terrestial channels plus freeview, if you wanted to.

Ah, just seen a snag .... if you wanted to record terrestial then you wouldn't be able to watch your freeview.

However, your dvd player has a built in tv tuner &, as long as it is connected to an aerial, should be able to record any terrestial channel. It will only record freeview if freeview is connected to its scart socket.

Hope that this helps a little at least. We used a switching socket in our setup & a lot of trial & error.

you are better off buying a scart control box which automatically switches between units when in use.Maplins are your best place for one.

depends how many scart sockets your tv has, if it doesnt have enough just buy a scart switching box , u can get 4,6,and 8 way ones......K

Either do it the old-fashioned way and get one of those multi-input splitters with the main input for your cable/sattelite... OR get the swith that lets you switch which you want to use... bad thing about that though, you have to physically switch it--no remote or anything like that.
