i come from highly disfunctional family. got caught up in drugs at early age. the only women that want me are disfunctional women with different issues. i am lonely and want a do over. healthy mentally and physically according to doctors. what a blessing. this life sucks. i laugh and shake my head a lot to myself. i am very over whelmed by the reproccutions of my past mistakes. so blown away and over whelmed i am stuck. i want a woman in my life, but i am tainted by my past. quirky like an old saab automobile. i am tall and attractive, but who cares when ur defective

I'm glad to hear you gave up the drugs, but you must fill your life up with something that satisfies or you could go back. Ask Jesus into your life and find a good Bible based Church you could also find some good friends there. God Bless You.

You are not defective!
I got into drugs, come from a ridiculous family- but it only makes you a stronger and better person!
If you want a nice lady, you can get one. Don't settle or lower your standards- way too many people do so. I know this sounds lame- but try taking dancing lessons, some nice ladies go there and you could learn something new. Or go to church, even a local fair, or take up a hobby. A bar doesn't bring nice long lasting ladies, one night stands and flings are all that you'll find there.

Build friendships with people and make sure you are being constructive with your life. Some women tend to be attracted to a man who has things going on in his life (non verbally it communicates that though not perfect you are doing something). Example. a job, get involved in activites, do some reading. The examples listed can only apply if you're not doing them already; and if you are try different activities. You'd be surprised that there maybe other highly dysfunctional people out there too.

You're 40, move on. What's done is done, don't waste anymore of the life you have left preoccupied with your past, and the mistakes you made there. Look in the mirror at
yourself. Say "I did the best I could with what I had at the time.The past is over. Now,I will continue to do the best I can with what I have at the present, because that's all a man CAN do. Peace.

Try joining a church singles group or take a class at the local junior college. You have to go where people are to meet them, and you need a vehicle for being able to meet them naturally. Be realistic about the problems in your past, but don't blow them out of proportion. Be honest with a potential friend, but don't go overboard giving all your negative traits. God bless you!

sounds like the problem is you think you're defective. When you have a positive outlook on life and about yourself it radiates from your whole being. You've overcome a lot it sounds like and should be proud instead of worrying about being "defective".

then you need to lift yourself up...take the negative and turn it into a positive...What has happen in the past is your guidelines for the future...Be alert and know your surroundings and what your actually looking for in someone...You dont want to stumble and fall because of past mistakes...You need to just keep moving forward...If you keep dwelling on your past then there will never be any room for the future...Good Luck and stay confident...

work on yourself-obviously your aware of the situation-try counseling to help with resolving and letting go of issues-from the past-sorry to say no one -at least in my experience has ever had a perfect family--so you are not alone----the main thing is that you understand your needs and your own personal goals--what you want expect and need in a relationship---one more thing try searching spiritually--wherever that road takes you-------------everybody needs a little magic in their lives

try moving to a new state...no one will know your past there..
You will get a fresh start---and you can make it whatever you want.
