You will not die, as you have made it this long. However, it could remain enlarged for a day or two. As it is causing you discomfort and it restricts your breathing, either see a physician ASAP or go to your local Urgent Care facility. This is the department that is one step above a physician's office but one step lower than the emergency room. Tell them what you've stated here and you will be seen quickly.
When you vomited you threw up the Benadryl, so it has not helped. If and only if, it will be several hours before you receive medical attention, you may try taking a double dose of Benadryl once again. Try to take it after eating a small amount of food. Sometimes our stomachs react unfavorably when we take medicines on an empty stomach and Benadryl will be OK with food. If you will be seeing the Dr. very soon, don't take anything, so they can give you epinephrine or an equivalent.
But you really should seek medical attention. Be sure to tell the medical staff what you took and at what time.

RE: If I get a severe allergic reaction, will simple Benadryl help? I have debilitating anxiety, and I was prescribed a new medicine for an unrelated condition. I did research on the pill before I took it, and I read about how it can cause severe allergic reactions. I'm always reluctant to take new medicines or try new foods in fear that I'll develop a...

Hopefully uou have gone to the doctor by now. Nut allergies are nothing to fool around with. You are having bad allergic reaction to cashews. Who knows you may be allergic to more nuts. Stay away from all nuts and get to the doctor asap-or more like the ER. This can be dangerous if you stop breathing. Each time you expose yourself to this same allergin it can get worse!! Please go to the doctor and get tested so they can give you an epi pen if this happens again. Yes it can be life threatening if you are highly allergic and get ahold of a lot of it.

You should go to a doctor and explain what has happened to you and get testing. You may have developed an allergy to other nuts too. Nut allergies can be very dangerous because reaction from them are frequently severe. You should probably keep and epi pen with you at all times, but that will be something your doctor will decide

Before cashews are harvested and cleaned for consumption they have a black film on the surface of the nut that is poison and causes just such a reaction. Have you ever eaten them before with no reaction or was this your first time having both?
If you have eaten them before and this was a isolated incident. They probably were not properly cleaned before being sold which is a health violation. You should save the can and contact the company.
I keep telling you people (not you specifically) to quit messing with the immigrants... they pick your food for Christ's sake! I see a trend! A really bad trend! LOADS of people have developed nut allergies in recent years... Keep messing with the illegal immigrants and see what happens... People can't issue orders for them to pick and clean their food supply and abuse and treat them like crap and not expect ramifications.... Dummies!
Either way... I hope you're okay. If you have an allergy, see your doctor and since it is so severe, you may need to get an Epi pen to carry around with you in case it happens again. It is a needle filled with a medication that counter acts the effects of an allergic reaction to Bee stings and nuts and junk...

Go to the doctor right away, if that is not possible or you do not have health insurance, go to a critical care center or even an emergency room. It sounds like you have a severe reaction to nuts, and you should have a professional diagnose and treat you. Good luck

you should think seriously about carrying an EpiPen (self injection of epinephrine) around with you in the event of an emergency.. with each episode, you risk going into anaphylactic shock.
