It's not a crime to lose your glasses so you don't need a crime number. Claim for them on your home or travel insurance - just explain when you last saw them in as much detail as you can, you don't need any other evidence.

I was able to claim for my glasses off my travel insurance without a crime number. Speak to your insurer.

You should be able to claim on your house insurance. Just tell them you lost them, it is not usually a problem and you won't need a crime number.

Yes, there is. Throw yourself on the mercy of your Home Contents Insurance Company. Providing that you have cover for Personal Items away from home, you should be OK.
Last year, I dropped a digital camera in a rock pool - which obviously deaded it - and I had a new replacement.

without having the necessary paperwork im afraid that you will not be entitled to filing a claim. its most important when ever you are overseas to keep all pertinent paper work for any insurance claims you may have upon your return to home. consider yourself lucky it was only your glasses, which are replaceable

You can claim for them from your travell insurence. Failing that you could try and claim it from your house insurence.
