I lost 80 pounds and am now a size 6 (I'm 41). Take baby steps. Learn how to eat small portions and exercise daily. Even if it's a small walk. Always try to keep moving. Do not eat late in the evening.

I do not recommend Atkins or diets like that. It has to be a life style change. Learn to eat heathly low-fat foods and exercise daily. It's all burning more calories than you take in. Try to avoid bad carb foods (white bread, cake, etc.) and replace with whole grains, vegetables, and fruit.

Good luck and don't give up. Every pound lost is a step closer.

well if you do it right, its going to take about 3 years, but its possible. Don't eat many carbs after 2 P.M. Eat bigger lunches and small dinners. Don't eat any later than 2-3 hours before you go to bed. Run in the morning. If your knees are bad, use an elliptical, or ride a bike. Try swimming. There's a lot of activities to do. DO NOT starve yourself. If you do so, the next time you eat, your body automatically turns the food into fat because it thinks "i need to have some sort of storage because i don't know when im going to get more food." Really, don't starve. Also, a big help is to write down everything that you eat and drink in a day and calculate the calories. Calculate the number of calories you burn in a day also . This site should help: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6817885/
Always overestimate calories and underestimate how much you burned. Also, you should have a net loss of calories between 500-1000. The weight should come off at a good pace at the beginning, but then it will quickly die down. Don't give up when that happens. You'll often hit plateus, but just keep going.

I've lost 76 lbs in 4 months with the Kimkins Diet and I'm on my way to 100 very soon! You should check it out. The founder, Kimmer, lost 198 lbs in 1 year!

The part I like best is that you lose your appetite in about 3-5 days.

First go to your primary care physician, he or she may want to do a routine physical first. Then try a gym or Curves (if you're female...sorry) or weight watches. The support you get from others will be tremendous. You have to start slow, don't expect to lose tons of weight in a short time; the diet pills that are advertised are just a "band aid". Basically, lower your caloric intake and move around more. You'll do it!

The only advice I can give is to take it slow, the weight didn't get there overnight and it won't come off overnight either. Drink lots of water and don't think of yourself as on a diet. Think of it as a lifestyle change. When you think of diet - you start to think of all the things that you can't have - allow yourself anything you want, just think about the portion size! Before you know it the weight will be coming off! Stay positive in your thoughts!

Drink plenty of water or crystal light, no regular/diet pop or sugar drinks. Watch your carbs and eat lean meat like chicken and fish, and eat vegetables and fruit. Exercise 30 minutes a day 6 days a week.
