I've got Sky. If this happens then it could be one of the following:
- Dish not aligned correctly
- Something blocking the dish
- Transmission problem from the channel's own broadcast
The third option is the typical one. I've had this problem too.

Only if there is a very heavy storm. And it only lasts for a couple of minutes. If you are losing it alot make sure the thing that plugs from the sky dish (coming through your wall) is pushed all the way in at the back of the Sky box.

I have Sky for several years. When it was first installed it froze up or went out altogether especially when the wind blew.
After about a year of this I went around to check all the connections.
I found a loose connection on the cable attaching to the dish.
So I tightened it up and it has been good ever since.

We're always either losing the picture or when you go onto TV guide, no music comes in and when you do select a channel its a blue screen with the now and next box up and a message saying 'The is a technical fault with this channel'
and it's getting so annoying...

I have freeview difital TV. Sometimes I get black screens on all the channels, even though the TV guide knows what should be on. Just can't understand it. How can I get a signal for the guide but not for the programmes? That's modern technology for ya!

although the dishes are very small nowadays pic should only be lost in very heavy weather, if you get regular pixelation, your tuner if faulty and you need a new box., if it happens all the time the dish or the lnb(bit on the dish) are off line/aulty
