Many Muslims have asked for him to resign. I agree that he should step down.
As a Muslim woman I know that it is not the woman's fault ever if she is raped. Yes a woman should do all she can to protect herself but it is the man fault not hers.
This would go along with the stupid judge in Italy a few years ago that said a woman could not be raped if she had jeans on. Because they are too hard to remove.

Just because someone says something does't make it any more true than it was before he said it. He is an utter imbicile. So, men have no responsibility for personal restraint? And, what, all men are is an animal looking for someone to rape? In his example, men are no different from animals? I think we can do better than that as a human society, on so many levels.

wow, what a strong statement! this one needs some additional questions, like "do humans possess the ability to control natural urges or appetites?" "what differentiates man from animal?" "is sexual function subconscious or does it require conscious thought?" "does this man represent muslims in general?"
sadly, this is not a new or surprising comment, but it reveals the trend from the very start of creation. women are shamed because their beauty awakens desire in man, so they were and are still forced to cover heads, faces, even hands lest a weak man's strong sexual appetite is aroused. the female intellect threatens the superior sex, and for centuries women were not educated nor given basic legal rights, often with the command of a god and all his force. this served to control her and bring her under submission to the stronger sex. we hate most what we fear and we fear what we do not understand, right?
are these comments really an assault on women or a assessment of the condition of man?

Nobody asks to be raped. Women should be allowed to wear whatever they want and be safe. And unfortunately, those comments may incite some sick men. People in power need to be careful about what they say.

It is an opinion that he is entitled to. People need to stop listening to idiots in power, just because he says it doesnt mean it is true. Don't over react otherwise you are as bad as he is.
