is it possible to copy the full contents of a hard disk to another one by copy and paste..

i know it is possible by means of third party applications such as diskclone, norton ghost etc. but that's not what i'm asking.

i'm only asking if it is possible to do it by copy and paste

why not????????

just select all contains of the hdd and copy it and paste it another hdd added in the same computer.

but it take a long time

ya if you do it through command prompt you can also probably copy and past i dont know how long it would take but it would take like an hour or more but im almost positive ive done it before with smaller applications. microsoft word and other applications might not get transfered right though because of copy right crap. but for your answer its like 95% sure and i know for sure you can xcopy through command prompt.

Only if it is personal files.. You would not be able copy and paste your Operating System as it needs to be installed with the proper CD.

yes it is impossible
u highlight whatever u wanna copy and press ctrl C and then switch to wherever u wanna paste it and press ctrl v
