Men, as with all mammals, have an innate behavior. Flirting is a ritual. Although man's ability to reason sets him apart from other creatures, he continues being just that, a creature. Look at the documentaries on Discovery channel. See what the animals do to court a mate? Humans do the same. Careful, though, when the chase is completed, man moves on to other conquests

Because, typically, flirting will get a guy farther than just coming straight out and ask for it. Plus, the flirting is a subtle form of foreplay. There are dating rituals to follow that are tried and true.
A man has to get the girl interested in the first place - hence the flirting. She has to be attracted to him for one reason or another.

Half the fun is the dance and getting to know each other and yaddah. I once knew a fellow who used the direct approach. A girl (here in Montana) reached into her purse and stuck a snub nosed 44 magnum in his belly and chewed him out for being a pig. He couldn't get it up for several weeks after that. Such is life.

Would you prefer to have a guy walk up out of the blue and ask to "do you"? I would expect that most people would want to at least go through the process of finding out more information. In fact, that's the foreplay that makes the sex even better! :)

First, I would get the chance to get to know that person before I'm interested in having sex with that person! Its all about competition when it comes to men, because all they're interested in is what's between your legs! Besides, I stay away from those kind of men!
