Americans have different accents, depending of the place they come from... the same for people from Great Britain.. so, the important i think is the correct use of the language. I speak Spanish.. my native language, I am not from Spain.. but I love the way Peruvians, as myself, speak Spanish, when they do it correctly. Have a great day!

Neither is better.
I work in the English Language Teaching industry in Japan. Lately, one of the big things that I hear people talking about is "World Englishes". The idea being that no accent is really right or wrong, and that having perfect grammar is not necessarily so important either. (How many native English speakers speak with perfect grammar? Not many that I know.) The most important thing in World Englishes is reaching a certain level of fluency; this level being such that you can understand other English speakers and other people can understand your English as well. Being able to communicate effectively is far more important than whether you have an American or British accent!

British accents are by far the best - they're so diverse. For example you could be in Edinburgh and hear one load of accents then travel 40 miles to Glasgow and hear something completely different! We definitely beat the americans at this one. Which is why the baddies in american films nearly always have a british accent ;-)

It depends on which American accent and which British accent - there are hundreds to chose from. I'd go for British in general but some regions have horrible accents

British!! it has more variety and culture! the American language is overheard and generalised through television and film. However the real British accents impersonated by the rest of the world are a disgrace.
