A queen-sized air bed.

Until about a year ago, Walmart sold them for $250 with a platform (so you didnt have to have a frame). Perhaps Sams Club may have them.

It's as good as the select comfort, has dual controls.
The only thing missing is the "comfort number" and Lindsey Wagner.

I know two people who have a select comfort and the Walmart bed and say there's no difference.

I have a bad back and have been sleeping in a recliner or on a couch for 10 years. This is the first one I've found that I can sleep on and get up without my back killing me.

Hubby and I share a king-size Select Comfort. It was delivered in two boxes and really easy to set up. Good thing it came in smaller boxes 'cause we'd never get a traditional king size up the stairwell. We had a hard enough time putting a standard queen size in the guest room!

The bed is great - different firmness for each of us and meeting in the middle is great - the design is good and you can't feel the difference in firmness in the middle very much.

I recommend a queen size for a couple, though. It makes for a better marriage. In the king size, you can sleep all night without touching one another - you might as well be single!

On the other hand, there's lots of room to 'play' on a king size!

And if the power goes out in a really bad storm, the king has enough room for the kids to climb on in!

So the size and type you get really depends on what your needs are!

We have a king size pillow top mattress. It's a serta i am thinking? We bought it a few years ago and i never really look at the tag. All i know is that we got a huge discount on it b/c the fabric they used on it was wrong for the "style" of the mattress - hadn't heard that one before but it worked to our advantage. I love the pillow top and have gotten spoiled so that i can't sleep without one now. :)
