I've pressed ctrl and and clicked on the file to associate the file to Quicktime/WMV player and it still won't play. the file appears to be recognized as a quicktime file but nothin. I thought Macs were supposed to be easy to use. Instead this thing is becoming a pain in the ***.

It appears this Dr. House guy tries to answer all the Mac questions here but he doesn't really know much of anything about Mac so he just says "Junk!!!" as loudly as he can.

The problem here is that WMV is developed by Microsoft and they no longer make any browser plugin for Mac. Simple as that. The problem is a Microsoft problem. You may never find a third-party plugin that really works reliably. Could this be because Microsoft is not happy about so many people switching to Safari and Firefox browsers (that have much better security than Internet Explorer)? You may notice that most online video is moving quickly away from WMV to MPEG format which makes so much more sense in terms of quality. Let's just hope the death of WMV comes quickly.

Aint no "is this thing a pain?" To it! They were a pain when they first came out! Mac users claim they are easy to use and the only reason is that they dont run anything! Macs are for people who are afraid of real PCs!
