she had so many children she didn't know what to do...employing condoms might have been a good idea...but it doesn't mention whether or not she was married...is the story based on Biblical scripture perhaps?

LOL Maybe and maybe not. She could have just as well been Mennonite, Charity, or any other Christian. My family had 8 children in it growing up and although I am now Catholic my family is Baptist. I would not trade that family for anything in the world. It was a blessing.But that story is a Mother Goose Rhyme and nothing more although some days my two leave me feeling like I don't know what to do.

No, it does not mean she was a Catholic. That story is so old that it probably took place when big families were the norm. And condoms don't always work, in fact they have a one in ten failure rate. And no, the story is not based on any scriptures.
